International Energy Transition Study (IEST) Team

The International Energy Transition Study (IEST) team aims to understand the global energy transition and advising national and international stakeholders on preparing for the challenges for energy transitions, with a regional focus on Australia, Greater China and Southeast Asia. The team has gathered together scholars with different expertise from different regions, including Australia, China and Hong Kong SAR.

The current energy transition is unique and unprecedented and characterized by a “need for speed” in that shifts occur much more quickly than in the past in order to address today's global challenges. The question of how to enable an effective, inclusive, and just energy transition is garnering significant interest in both academic and policymaking communities. The IETS team is designed to provide frontier research with rigorous methods to contribute to an effective, inclusive and just energy transition.
